computer freeze?

Hi,I did the following:

Rainy:The pictures have nothing to do with the content!!
i have win / 98 using as backup and it keeps freezing on me can you give me some tips. it freezes when i am online mostly and i am running netzero as my internet provider my computer is a IBM
APTIVA could it be my computer?
what can i do to fix it
