    Step One:

    Insert you XP disc while the PC is on

    Step Two:

    Restart the PC (therefore the installation will not be interfeared)

    Step Three:

    Wait for options

    Step Four:

    Press ENTER to install Windows XP

    Step Five:

    Choose the option to formate the hard drive (as in, to keep your files or to lose your files)

    Step Six:

    Choose your format mode in NTFS (FAT is a slower hard drive reading mode)

    Step Seven:

    Wait as the progress is complete.

    Also, I have done this many times on many different machines for trusting purposes.

    TIP 1: Do NOT, under any circumstances, attempt to use the old DOS “fdisk” utility, it will damage your hard drive. Use only XP’s built-in Partition Manager (see Figure 6).

    TIP 2: If a laptop, read the User Manual first, cover to cover. Look for the section on Recovery Procedures, and, how to create your own Windows Recovery disks.

    Question–: Is there any hope in repairing my computer chair?
    It has the basic “5-spoke” legs with rollers. These legs are made of tough plastic, but i broke one leg off, and crushed two of the casters. The leather chair , the post, and all the levers work perfectly and are like new. How can i make this chair usable again?

    I broke it when i moved and was a bit rough on it.
    the leg broke in half.

    did a screw come put with it or did the whole leg just pop off? ahh, then it maybe time to send your beloved chair to the dump, go to walmart, office depot, or an office supply store to get another chair, next time dont be so rough with it, lol icon biggrin computer repairing|what do i do step by step on repairing or formattingnmy computer?

    Most office supply depots can get you a new base for your chair. They just knock off with a few good smacks from a 2×4.

    Take the remaining casters off and screw the remaining legs (and half a leg) into a wooden base. Glue some carpet underlay onto the underside of the base to protect carpet/flooring. The chair won’t move around but it will be functional. You could always buy new casters and screw them into the wooden base but I’d settle for functionality if the swivel is still working OK.
