    I have my xp software but can’t find the right product key for the
    program . I m a pack rat but can’t find the books and things that goes with this progam . I only have the disc.

    call windows and they will help you, i think they ask you to read them other information, like codes on the cd.

    most people have the key on a sticker on one of the sides of the computer

    Click Start, My computer. Under system tasks…click View System Information. Your product key will be displayed on the first page.

    The product key used to install Windows XP is still present on the machine in some form but is not readable, to view it you need a tool such as Magical Jelly Beans ‘KeyFinder’.

    Go to this site and download and install the Produkey:

    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html

    This will tell you every product ID and Product key of your computer. You can then copy and paste it to word document for electronic filing.
