    Question: Computer monitor not working?
    My computer is working it turns on and off but my monitor is not I have followed the wires down and they are plugged in but the monitor won’t turn on help?

    Well, there many things that could be the problem:

    1. It could be that the monitor does not like the current resolution your computer is running at.
    If thats the case, go get the old monitor and plug it in. Lower the resolution and that should fix the problem

    2. It could be because you are using a third party graphics card, if you don’t know what that is its where your wire are going down to the expansion slots near the bottom of the computer.
    If thats the case, then you should get the driver for the graphics card

    - Does the monitor have power?

    - Have you checked the connections coming from the monitor?

    - Have you tried another montor on the computer to rule out a monitor issue?

    - Have you tried the power button on the montor?

    It could be a power issue, a backlight issue, a broken monitor issue or a flaky video card. There is no way to know unless I knew more about the issue. Sounds like you just need a new monitor, but borrow a friends to make sure that is the issue before buying a new one.
