    Hi,I did the following:

    My computer is a dell desktop pentium 4 with windows xp. When i click on the restart button my computer shuts down. How can i fix this problem?

    It can’t RE-start if it doesn’t shut down. All computers do this, if you hit restart.

    Your doing just that, restart. Should come right back up on it’s own. Just like when you download something, you usually have to restart to activate the download.
