Limewire itself has no viruses itself.
It’s the files that get downloaded that need to be scanned for virus/mal/spy-ware by Windows users.
Virus/mal/spy-ware do not function on my main operating system.

You sure can! Not every virus protection, paid for or free, will detect every virus out there. That’s the way the hackers design their viruses. They know certain virus protections will spot their virus immediately, while others won’t and the authors will have to come up with a solution and issue an update. Limewire is legal for certain things, but downloading copyrighted material is a no-no anywhere!
