    Question: computer virus?

    6 computer virus?
Rainy:The pictures have nothing to do with the content!!
My mum opened this link she got in an e-mail not knowing it was a virus, since then for i think 1 or 2 days a message would keep popping up saying we had spyware on our computer and took us to a website for a spyware remover that was quite expencive, so we ran all of the anti-viruses we had but they had no effect at all, then all of the desktop images changed to a blue background with a message in the middle saying something like you have spyware on yuor computer that needs to be reomved. My mum was quite worried because another message popped up saying they could get personal inofmation like bank details and adresses. So today we went to re-boot the whole system, but she turned on the copmuter and it would not even load to the user loging pages were you have to entre your password to get onto the computer. all that happened was what would normally happen before that page comes up were it loads the copmputer and stuff.

So please help or is our computer totaly broken beyond repair?
By the way this was asked on my laptop

Its not a virus exactly. Its malware / spyware. Just get the free superantispyware and run it. It will clear it all up. You might need to turn on the computer and tap F8 until you get a menu. Then select Safe mode with networking.

Hi a free powerful virus protection is AVG anti-virus free. The link is here: http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download?prd=afe

Perform an update then run a full system scan for viruses.
    (Scan Whole Computer)
    I hope this helps.

Firstly never open emails that you’re not 100% sure off and would recommend browsing with Mozilla Firefox its a safer, easier to use alternative to Internet Explorer.

Install the McAfee SiteAdvisor add-on – when searching for something using Yahoo, Google or Msn, it displays either a green tick (safe site), yellow exclamation mark (use with care) or a red cross (dangerous site) next to every result. http://www.siteadvisor.com/
