    Hi,

    Earlier today I ran my webroot virus scan and found a Trojan Horse Opachki Virus. I quarantined it, but my computer was running extremely slow. So here is what I did.

    - I turned off remote access and restarted my computer in safe mode
    - In safe mode I ran my virus scan again and it came up clean
    -I then turned my pc back on normally and turned remote access back on.
    -I restored my pc back one week
    - Now I am rerunning my virus scan to double check everything.

    My pc is running much faster now and is acting normal again, but I’m worried it that the virus could still be somewhere.

    I wanted to ask someone who knew about computers whether or not I did the right thing and what else I should do.

    Please only answer if you can give me detailed information.

    You did some things right. If you restored you computer back a week, then turning remote access back on before was point less. When you restore the PC back, it is like taking the computer back in time to that time. So it is like you never went to the place that gave you the Trojan yet. Yes the virus could still be there. If the Trojan infected the restore files, it could be there. I have had only one successful restore. I have tried it on many computer. In order to fully ensure that the virus is gone, you must do a complete system recovery. If you got the Trojan more than a week ago, all this is pointless. You are going to have to restore the computer back farther.
