i know how to remove it and stuff, but my friend is affected by this virus and she wants to know where it comes from…

The most common play to get them from is limewire. You’ll have to buy a good virus/anti-spyware remover to get rid of them, or you could just wipe your hard-drive and start all over.

Trojans are opportunistic by design.
People generally get a trojan infection by clicking on a link for something that they think is going to be good or helpful, (such as a “FREE LAPTOP!” ) or by clicking on unsolicited emails from people who they don’t know; and in doing so they actually invite the malware in.

It can come from a external download on Rapidshare.com, it can be a torrent, it can be on limewire, etc.
But how does this Trojan connect?
Will it depends, what type of Trojan?
But what they basically do is they leave a backdoor opened on the PC, and it allows attackers to connect via Telnet, Prorat, Turkojan, etc, it just depends on what type of Trojan its formatted of.

People usually let Vundo Trojans in on their computer thinking it’s a legitimate program like you see with antivirus 2009 and the people who actually try to buy it. It can also enter your computer if you don’t have everything on your computer up to date. Not having everything up to date causes vulnerabilities (holes) in your system that malicious programs like antivirus 2009 can exploit and help it enter you computer.
This is why security must be full circle. That means for the most part using common sense while on line, having an Anti-virus/Anti-spyware program with a firewall and keeping all security patches that come in Windows updates up to date.
I also recommend using Mozilla Firefox browser with an add-on called NOSCRIPT and others like Adblock plus and either Site Advisor or WOT.
