    Help!: My computer got virus’s in it, and a repair man fixed the computer, but now the headphone slot doesn’t work?

    7 My computer got viruss in it, and a repair man fixed the computer, but now the headphone slot doesnt work?
    Rainy:The pictures have nothing to do with the content!!
    Like I plug my head phones in and the sound still comes from the computer and it isn’t going into my headphones.They are in the right slot I know for sure.But why is it not working can someone tell me if I need to go into something and turn them on or something?

    (I have a Windows Vista if that matters) :]

    Try updating all your sound drivers, mic, headphones, etc. If not try reinstalling Vista

    Hi
    click on start (bottom left )
    control panel
    hardware and sound
    go to sound/manage sound devices.
    are your headphones shown in the list when plugged in.
    if they are in the list then right click to enable or configure.
    if not do they require drivers ( not normally).
    are they plugged into the front socket or at the back into the onboard.
    if plugged into the front you may have to check that the front panel connectors are fitted on the board correctly.
    if they are plugged into the onboard socket at the rear then try reloading motherboard drivers.
