As freelancer do I ne3ed to specialize or know a lot of different technologies but not too well? I want to specialize in Flash/Flex/Actionscript 3 and I was told it was a good way to do thing as I will have gigs from potentials clients but also from Web designer who don’t know Flash/Flex/AS3. What do you guys think that I should do?
The following is the answer:

It depends on what you want to do and the market you are selling yourself too. If you have a market where all they need is Flash/Flex/AS3 then you could just do those. As a computer person my self though I would suggest getting a basic understanding in other fields too, that way you are able to do more then 1 or 2 things. For a freelancer the more you can bring into a job in the way of skill sets the better off you will be. Plus it helps to know how other pieces/parts interact with yours.

Flash/Flex/Actionscript 3 are evil technologies they go agings the web standards.
I would Start with php, html,Java Script.

As stated before, Flash AS3 is a dying technology because they aren’t search engine friendly. Search engines can’t search your flash file for content, and everyone’s goal is to be on the top 5 when searching google. The best thing to learn will be javascript and there are tons of resources online for it, as well as ASP.NET (this is a really big one for database driven sites) and PHP5 or PERL
