    Q&A: 3d web technology|Art Institute Questions.?

    By admin | July 25, 2011

Thank you for your attention,This blog is about new computer technology 2011 ,Not’s about blog technique.

    Q&A–: Art Institute Questions.?
Alright, so I would love to go to The Art Institute, but the fact of the matter is, 1) I am not made of money, 2) I am not sure exactly what I want to master in, and 3) I don’t want to go into debt right out of college..

So, here is what I am planning on doing, maybe some of you who have already gone to an Art Institute can help me figure out exactly what I am trying to do and what would be best for me.. I would be talking to a college Rep right now, but it is the week-end and it is late, I would also like to hear it from the students point of view..

Right now, I am taking duel credit with my High School and Local College.. I am thinking about taking Multimedia Design, and Advanced Graphic Design… But, now that I look into the Art Institute, I am not sure if I want to pay for these when I would just be paying to learn them at a better college… With duel-credit I am only going for my prerequisites, so I can get my Associates degree by the time I get out of High School and obtain my Diploma.

    Here are my Questions.

    - Questions -

When I look at the available courses.. I see a few different courses I like that have a few things in each that I want to do.. Can I pick and choose things I want to learn and setup a course for myself? Or would I have to pay thousands upon thousands of dollars to learn all of these courses. For example: I want to know Multimedia Design, Visual Effects & Design Artist, Web-Design, 3D Animation & Motion Design,

Now, a lot of these are in specific courses and I know it would be crazy to go out and pay for 4+ courses when people normally specialize in one job… But, I would like to get specific skills to possibly make my own game or start my own company in the future..

    2) Are there ways of paying for this school, if you are in a situation where you have little money and cant afford it? But, have good grades in High School? I am at a 3.45 GPA right now.

    3) With this economy, is it likely that I can still get a job right out of college? I am really worried about this specifically.

    4) When it comes to graphics and technology these days… The future is always new and there is always something better… So, lets say I spent money and time going to school using the Adobe and Autodesk programs, what do I do if the company I go to uses company specific software, or changes to new platforms, does this mean I go out of a job because of technology updates?

Feel free to answer these questions and post any other answers or information to things I may not have looked at..

Well good luck with that! but i guess u’v got to check out the Institutes admin if they offer scholarship

    Answer by Nee
    Hello,

I went to the Art Institutes (MN), so I don’t know what the other colleges are like but I can at least tell you about my experience.

    1) From what I recall, I don’t believe you can pick & choose what courses you want to take. Even if you could, the courses are set up so that you need to take prerequisites to get to the more advanced classes. In which case, you would still be spending more money to take the classes you want. Also, mixing different courses from different majors wouldn’t get you a degree if that is what you’re hoping to achieve.

    2) Like you stated, the school is super expensive. I think you’re headed in the right direction by taking classes from a community college first. You can always transfer those credits over and take the required design classes at the Art Institute.

Try applying for local or state scholarships and grants now so that you can be prepared to pay for your schooling. You can also check out scholarships that the Art Institutes has. While in school, the college does offer quarterly scholarships to students whose GPA is above a certain # (can’t remember exactly, maybe 3.5) and you can apply for it every quarter.

Then there is the route that really sucks, which is taking out loans. I recommend talking to the school’s financial adviser; they can discuss with you how to finance your education.

Oh and if you have a job- save, save, save! The classes themselves are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to costs. Think about software, hardware, books, printing costs (for projects), transportation and various other materials.

    3) I graduated about a year and a half ago and have yet to find a full-time job in Graphic Design. Now, things are different for Web & Motion Graphics Designers because they are in much higher demand than Print Designers. Whether you get a job right away or not depends on many factors including: how talented you are, who you know, where you live, how much experience you have, etc. Try doing a job search in your area; this will give you a better idea of what the demand is like and what employers are looking for.

    4) This is the risk you take when pursuing a technology based career; things are always changing and yes, you will have to learn how adapt. I don’t think Adobe is going anywhere anytime soon and the changes from version to version aren’t significant enough where you wouldn’t be able to perform your job. If you work for a company that uses their own software they will more than likely train you in how to use it, especially if they are hiring someone who has never worked for them or even if they decide to switch from industry standard software to their own.

I hope this helped a little and good luck with whatever you decide!

The following is the answer: (Hint: The answer is not necessarily.)

    Answer by el maestro
Well, ignore the douchebag who commented before me.

Personally, I’d recommend a cheaper, simpler computer, because if you only want to play WoW and not anything more complicated, you won’t need such massive processing power. Its way overkill- like buying a ferrari to race a bunch of 5 year olds on scooters.

Unless of course, you just have tons of spare cash sitting around, under which conditions i would then tell you to go for it, stimulate the economy, cheers.

Also, don’t play WoW too much. It sucks souls.

Like a complex nano landscape of gold particles… Surfing through the fractal world =)

Creating and exploring this fractal world, with an amazing software Mandelbulber . An experimental application designed to help you render 3D Mandelbrot fractals and fly / zoom, through them like if you were in a new dimension, exploring an Alien spaceship or travelling to the nano world .

Mind blowing experience, fun to do and beautiful at the same time. (spent most of last night playing with it. So absorbing and full of options, that I realised what time it was…when the sun came up… O=)

Here are two Mind Blowing HD videos. Made by xlace they will give you an idea of how cool this tool is. But more than that, how beautiful mathematics can be.
Relax, turn on the sound, put it on full screen and enjoy the Fractal Ride (Eppie I am sure you are going to love the "mathemaspiritual experience" =)

    Video un Mandelbox trip
Video deux Trip to center of hybrid fractal

Talking about fractals, Legendary French mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot, father of Fractals, died last week. He was at TED this year and gave this great talk on Fractals and the art of roughness.

Here is the link to Download Mandelbulber on sourceforge-net. Have fun !! =)

And here is a web page full of beautiful and interesting Hypercomplex Fractals + few more amazing visualisations here or under this photo.
