    The above link is a good place to start. There might be a chapter in your area. It’s an organization that serves people already into “cinema technology.” The Los Angeles chapter has meeting once a month were they have a screening of a recently released movie and they have a panel of technicians who worked on it discuss how they achieved the final product. It’s a place to meet other cinema tech geeks and discuss the latest and greatest. They also review video games as well, I suppose anything motion graphics related. If you get on their mailing list, they also send you job postings in the cinema related field, at least that’s what the Los Angeles chapter does.

    The above link is for “industry updates, event news, special invitations and more.” They specialize in sales, rentals and training on cinema equipment and various motion graphic and sound application programs.
