Thats a great configuration. As long as you are getting an authentic Windows Vista Ultimate 64 Bit disk with it, I’d say the price is great. Although I would not pay more than 00 for it. Thats just me though.

Seems like you’ve got a good set of stuff. However, I would forgo a lot of those extras. You really shouldn’t buy peripherals (keyboards, mice, webcams) from people who sell you computers, because they generally double the price. If you really want all that stuff, look it up online and compare prices. And all that fancy stuff (heat spreaders, thermal compound, etc.) is mostly bull crap that sounds like gold to make you spend more. Also, if you’re dropping 1.5 grand on a desktop, you should be getting what’s worth your money. At that level, you should have at least 6 or 8 gigs of memory and 2.8 ghz processor.
Try plugging in the same specs to other websites, like HP and Dell. Maybe the lighting and case isn’t as cool, but it’s a better deal. And if it really matter that much, you can purchase it separately and move everything from one comp to the next.

you really need to tell us what you will use this computer for, but here goes
a lot of the components don’t make much sense. the case lighting is a waste of money. so is vista ultimate unless you want advanced backup and encryption features that are done better with 3rd party software. the super duper thermal compound and fan only makes sense if you want to overclock. the sli board, keyboard, and killer nic card suggest gaming, but a q8400 is not a good gaming processor. if this is primarily for gaming, get a e8400. why do you need to spend that much for a nic? the geforce 9500gt is a weak card and sli won’t help that much. plus 1gb of memory on a card that weak is a total waste of money. just to add insult to injury, the only 1gb geforce 9500gt cards I can find on newegg use gddr2. the comparison is not completely valid due to the markup ibuypower undoubtedly charges, but 2 1gb 9500gt”s are worth at most 0 at newegg. with the same 0 you could get a 9800gtx+ which will blow those clunkers out of the water and spare you the hassles of sli. if you work on computers a lot and have a few, you must have a keyboard, speakers, and a mouse lying around. or 2. or 10. either way, save yourself the money and forego them here. why do you need dual optical drives? you can probably find a better or cheaper monitor elsewhere, so drop that too. the only reason to get a full tower case is if you want to add a boatload of drives or fans. a voltage regulator is a good idea with a computer this expensive, but why not go for a full-on ups? having professional wiring as an option makes me question the quality of a “standard” wiring job and you shouldn’t have to pay for special packaging to ensure your computer arrives undamaged.
you’ll admittedly have a hard time beating that price for that system, but just for comparison, if you go here
http://www.avadirect.com/product_details_configurator.asp?PRID=7044
and spec out a computer, you can get almost exactly the same system for 60, with the changes I suggested. it has the same motherboard, the same cooler, almost exactly the same ram (a mushkin EM2-6400 2x2gb kit) and hard drive, a ups, a card reader, a nice mid-tower case (the cooler master centurion 590) and psu (the nspire NSP-650V22BF14PF), a retail sata burner (the lite-on iHAS324) and the cpu and video card I suggested. I will admit I dropped down to vista home premium 64 bit and dumped the keyboard, mouse, nic, and monitor to get that price, but I explained my reasons above. you also won’t get the extras like the web cam, case lighting, “professional” wiring, “special” packaging, and high-performance thermal compound, but their usefulness is dubious at best. it also comes with a 3 year warranty and much better tech support and customer service than what ibuypower offers.
