Question–: development of web technologies and languages?
ok, if there r any ppl who r thinking of saying ‘oh! do your own hw!’. i am supposed to make a site and that answers questions. one of them is this one. i can’t find anything on the net that explains the first web techonology and what came next, e.t.c. i don’t need a detailed answer, i just need a short summary of what was first, and what came after, and the major differences e.t.c

web development technology–: would an internship in web designing be beneficial for me in the long run?
I am currently an applied math major at a university and i am not exactly sure what i want to go into after i graduate. I am interested in any job related to math, computer science, technology, web design/development, etc.
Would an UNPAID internship in web design be a good use of my time (even though I may not go into web designing)?

Yes internship is always beneficial

An internship will teach you a lot that is important while doing your job. This includes understanding how organizations work, the internal processes, working within a team, some elements of business and obviously enhance your skills in web design. There will be other teams e.g. development, marketing which might provide more insights on how it all fits in.

It seems that getting an internship that have something to do with logic would be a better choice for you because of your interest and your talent in math. I would ask the same company for an internship as a web developer or an IT person for the company. Those are the two which will sharpen your skill and benefit you the most as a problem solver and logic thinker.
Web design will be heavy on the creative side and correct me if I’m wrong but you either stick with being good at number/logic or being creative?
As Jake B explained above, there are some beneficial to take the web design internship also so if you have no other choice, go with it.

If you want an internship in web design but don’t plan to pursue the career, maybe it’s not worth it to spend your time on internship. But if you plan to do web design as a hobby while you earn from being a math professor (or the likes, something related to your course) and maybe earn extra for becoming a web designer in the future then I guess it is good if you take the opportunity interning.
