Question–: computer science degree worth getting for web development?
I’ve read on the internet about how outdated our computer science curriculum is here in America. With new web technologies coming out so fast, is it even wroth the cost to obtain an undergraduate degree in computer science to program a professional database backed website? Will the fundamentals and the math actually be helpful in what I want to do?

This website has general career info: nttp://www.bls.gov/oco and can search ‘computer software engineers and computer programmers’, ‘computer scientists’ (may need a doctorate to become a ‘scientist’) or such.
How about also talking with a student advisor at the local community college or university.

I have started a Computer Science degree in ireland and not sure what ill end up doin web, video etc. You would be getting the degree for employers mostly and learning how everything on the backend works. As for all the new technologies on the web it would be up to you to pick the ones you want to learn about in your own time, tutorials etc
Have to ask yourself if you even intend to work for someone else or for yourself? Would you need a degree if thats the case?
