It is free. So people use it for their convenience. I like XML
Answer by exch
- It is free
- It has a decent user-annotated manual
- It has a massive code library which will basically supply you with a function for any problem you can come up with. Making for fast development and the ability to focus on your website instead of having to re-invent the wheel all the time.

PHP is a good web development language, sure there are other good ones like Perl, ASP, Ruby and Java, but PHP is popular as a language because of its power, its flexibility and its usefulness.
PHP can be used to program basic web sites, dynamic web sites and even web applications. It is easy to learn and powerful enough to keep even the serious programmer interested. And because it was designed for the web, it is perfect to integrate into websites.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) August 3, 2009
Structured Web Technologies Inc., a leader in providing tools for the modeling and developing of dynamic Web applications, has announced the launch of the dWebSpec dictionary site. This site provides for the translation of dWebSpec specifications into platform specific models, and implementation.
dWebSpec is a revolutionary way of capturing the specification and design of Web applications. It combines annotations in HTML or xHTML pages that capture the user interface design with a set of descriptors that capture the dynamic activities. It is this platform independent representation that the dictionary site assists in its translation into platform specific syntaxes and configurations.
dWebSpec descriptors capture areas of concerns, such as event propagation and handling, data binding, formatting and validations, page flows, navigational paths and rules, just to name a few. As already discovered by many programmers, the studies of these subjects can provide solid background and foundation for dynamic web application development.
The dictionary site is designed to allow the exploration of these subject areas and viewing their correspondence to platform specific models and implementations. It also allows the reverse, exploring the platform syntaxes and artifacts and seeing their related concept subjects. Furthermore, these implementation schemes and code samples for the various platforms provide means of comparison, which could be useful for evaluation or migration purposes.
In the initial introduction, Structured Web Technologies is featuring Classic Struts, JSF and Seam. They plan to follow with many other popular platforms to guide dWebSpec users.
The dictionary site can be freely accessed and the dWebSpec PDF Introduction and Guide is also free for download.
