I still haven’t found a reasonable flight to Manial from Montreal. I know it is the high season to fly there. Is there a web site where there are stand by flights? Someone who has cancelled their flight and it goes for sale at a reduced price ?

You may want to look directly on the airline websites, rather than travel sites like Orbitz, Travelocity, …etc.

Check MANY times a day, the rates can change in a matter of hours, either up or down.

Are you able to be flexible? Sometimes you are able to get a better deal by being able to travel on short notice, or be willing to take a day or 2 ahead.

Also, be aware of supply and demand, when the flight is full, they can charge a premium for the leftover seats…While sometimes you can get a killer deal on a last minute flight…You can usually get a cheaper rate when you book at the first minute!

Why don’t you want to try a regular travel agency in Montreal.
    You may be surprise.

travel agent. they can get you the best deals. I would have suggested Philipppine Airlines coz they got seat sales like a few days before the flight but you’re flying from Montreal, they only fly in Vancouver. I flew from Calgary-Vancouver-Tokyo via Air Canada and Tokyo-Manila via JAL. Total price was 1200 including taxes so it was a good deal, total time was 20 hours including lay over in tokyo for 2 hours (just enough time to run from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1) and 1 hour in Vancouver. Your travel agent is the best bet, Orbitz, Expedia etc. are way too expensive.
