I started with Archie and the pre-cursors to the Internet back in the BBS days. 1987 was when I got my first modem. I got into it because I liked computers and the modem was tossed in free with a memory upgrade. I looked for ways to use the modem and found BBSs as well as a University based network (Archie, Veronica, and all the other search engines prior to the WWW era).
I much prefer the Internet of today.

PHP is a good web development language, sure there are other good ones like Perl, ASP, Ruby and Java, but PHP is popular as a language because of its power, its flexibility and its usefulness.
PHP can be used to program basic web sites, dynamic web sites and even web applications. It is easy to learn and powerful enough to keep even the serious programmer interested. And because it was designed for the web, it is perfect to integrate into websites.
