FanIQ.com started in 2006 with the goal to become the sports website of choice of sports fans looking for some exciting, supplementary sports fun. Today in 2011, FanIQ, the world’s first ever fantasy sports site, has turned out to be the world’s most interactive sports website also, providing unparalleled sports entertainment to almost 12 million registered users.

FanIQ has garnered some positive reviews by some reputable technology blogs/sites including, but not limited to, TechCrunch.com and About.com Web Trends.

    Review of FanIQ by TechCrunch:

TechCrunch.com is a leading technology blog, which was founded in 2005 by one of Time Magazine’s world’s 100 most influential people, Michael Arrington. On November 20, 2008, TechCrunch wrote a news story about FanIQ starting with these words:

“FanIQ, a sports site that focuses more on entertaining its users than bogging them down with the stats and opinion pieces found on the likes of ESPN, has had a landmark year. The site launched in 2006, but hasn’t really hit its stride until now: since January, the site has grown by over 2000%, recently hitting as many as 2.4 million unique users and 1.5 million registered members.”

The news story of TechCrunch says towards the end: “The site (FanIQ.com) has raised around -5 million in funding (the exact amount was not disclosed), with investors including Vantage Point Ventures, Peter Thiel, Paul Martino, Keith Rabois, and Jeff Fluhr.”

About.com Web Trends has also reviewed FanIQ. The review starts with the words “(bottom line)FanIQ is a good site for sports nuts, but could be organized a little better. It is daunting at first, but if you are really into sports and love to engage in trivia contests with other fans, it is the site for you.”
