I heard that having a web host design your web pages for you creates restrictions. In order for my website to be as successful as I want it to be im going to need full control. Is there any web host that will allow you to design your own pages but at the same time assist you if you need help?? Also, how long would it take for me to design a website from the bottom up??

@TheHobbyHub You cant, it takes money from there end to keep the server running with electricity and what not. So paying monthly/yearly helps them pay there bills. Hostmonster is pretty cheap and good,

yeah well with adverts most sites use that to make money so they can make ur sites live on the otherhand google pays you for ads on your own websites so you can make some more money to pay your uh…. lets call it rent for your site

@mr4vinny4 usually you get paid for any ads on your own website.
there are several way you can get paid with a website.
oh and Louis,
You need XHTML AND CSS to really have a great website with decent functionality and design.
If you need more then Javascript(a front client-side scripting language) or PHP(a back-end server-side scripting language) is needed.
