not the graphic card, same with 3d modeling a faster graphic card wont help at all, its all cpu power.
either way they both look good only one thing, they are not worth the price xD i wouldnet pay more then 00 for a computer like the alienware one, cuz my computer is better and it cost 00

The Alienware is better for what you want to do but you need to remember that they are owned by Dell now and Dell produces junk computers that mess up all the time. I would recommend building a desktop and it will cost way less.

for what your talking about, the key specs to look at are processor (type and speed), memory (type and size) and hard drive (speed). you’ll probably want a fast (high ghz) 64 bit processor with high onboard memory (cache), high (4+gb) ddr3 memory, and at minimum 7,200 rpm hard drive (could also opt for 10,000 rpm or solid state drive for faster read times). looking at these specs, the hp is your better option.
one thing to consider is the number of additional processes the manufacturer will install on the computer. from my experience, hp is the worst about adding essentially unneeded software to their default installations. these serve nothing but to waste the very specs mentioned above. if you opt for hp, i’d suggest uninstalling hp’s additional software, or better yet, installing the operating system by itself, if that is an option. you’ll get more bang for your buck if you do.
that said, i agree with another responder, though, that you can probably find better computers for the same or lower cost if you go to a lesser-known brand. for example, http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/ often has great packaged computers, most of which are highly customizable with high specs, all for reasonable prices. there are other sites that may offer additional options that meet your needs for a great price, too (newegg, etc.), so i would suggest keeping an open mind.
