Online retailer 1010tires.com Inc. (www.1010tires.com), a leading e-commerce and information portal for aftermarket tires and wheels, announces changes that empower its popular website with the most recent web technologies and usability trends.
“During the past seven years, we have positioned ourselves as pioneers in an industry that previously conducted business only offline. Shopping for tires and aftermarket wheels at local tire retailers can be quite a frustrating and limiting experience at times. Although this may be true for other offline markets as well, we have overcome significant logistic obstacles and are now recognized as an industry leader worldwide,” said Sofia Volpov, President and CEO of 1010tires.com Inc. “We are thrilled about our website technology upgrade. Providing our visitors with the tools to make educated and informative purchases has always been our first priority. Nowadays web technologies and usability features can facilitate the process of choosing correct tire and wheel packages based on users’ inputs and preferences.”
The renovated website will be powered by Microsoft® ASP.NET 2.0 and Adobe® Flash® web technologies, and will utilize Microsoft’s AJAX Extensions Framework to make it an AJAX-Enabled website. Because a significant percentage of customers of 1010tires are knowledgeable about the ever growing fashion of performance tires and wheels, the website will integrate advanced user-generated features to further enrich and strengthen its content.
“1010tires has recognized the power of user-generated content well before the term Web 2.0 was even coined. Our website already incorporates user-generated reviews of tires. We are also enhancing our popular Custom Car Wizard™ with its second major release, which will enable it to be driven from user-supplied images. We recognize the benefits that other related user-generated features can provide, and are surely going to incorporate them in our website,” added Michael Zino, the outsourced CTO of 1010tires.
With over 25 years of offline and online experience and expertise in aftermarket tires and wheels, and in view of the emerging opportunity in vertical search, it seems natural for 1010tires.com Inc. to expand its online presence and reach beyond its e-commerce portal. “Our vertical search engine will definitely help us to have a favourable impact on the market we are aiming at. We will partner with other key players in our industry for our customers’ benefit and to ensure the completeness of this technology,” Michael Zino concluded.
